Enter: Release Oct. 29th; Full stream Oct. 31st / Other news...

The banner says it all.
Our EP "Enter" is due out October 29th, and will be available to stream on our purevolume page October 31st, halloween. Munch some candy to these tunes.
Once again, we will be selling them 5 bucks a piece.

On another note, two major things.

A full demo? Yeahhh. With our EP on it's way, we've begun work on our next single, "Blind." This single will include the original version, as well as a classical version, in which the string quartet will have their track. It should be epic. As of right now, there is no release date, but we plan on going to a professional studio to record this one. Should be fun.

A free download? YEAHHH. Along with our EP came a lot of remixes. Two of them made it into the EP, however one didn't. "Exit (Techno Dance Remix)." With this remix, we'll start a new tradition. Any remixes that don't make it in our singles, EPs, or albums to come, will be put into our "Remix." album on our purevolume page (http://www.purevolume.com/4thd/albums/Remix.) as free downloads. So go give it a listen, and if you like it, then download it, and party hard.

Blind: Upcoming Single with String Quartet -- Score below.

We don't have copyrights or CC on this yet, so play nice, and don't mess with it.

This is the string quartets part in our upcoming single "Blind," placement, notes and tempo are up for debate, we've yet to have everyone involved in the quartet actually come over for a practice and look it over, but we did have one come the day we wrote it. As for who is participating in the quartet, they are: Christy Bautista, Alex Lee, Andrew Kopca, and possibly Wren Rudolph, and were picked out of Yorktown High School's top orchestra. We plan to record this single at World Flight Studios in Maryland, about a half hour away.

Anyways, give it a listen, but NOTE that it's a free website we used to write this, and some parts don't sound like they should, even though it's written the way it should sound. Heh.

Updates and *EP labels and artwork*

Well what we've been calling an "album" is more like an "EP" so that's what we'll be calling it from here on out... and here is a dummy CD complete with our custom art label and jewel inserts:
Our EP consists of 7 songs, one of them is pulled from our released single, 2 of them are remixes or different versions of songs in the EP. We might throw some other extras in there as well.
As for the progress with recording all these songs, they are ALL recorded. Enter and Exit along with an extra remix are good to go, and one version of Deja Vu is complete. All there is left to do is to add lyrics to Unknown, Rewind, and another version of Deja Vu.

I'll release more information as we get closer to releasing our EP, give us a shout about what you think of the artwork...

One more bit of news: we've moved our studio to a bigger and better room, and we'll have some vids up soon.
Peace

Fourth Dimension guitar tryouts

Pretty straight forward stuff this time around:

Send us audio or video of you playing the guitar, but flaunt what ya got, no need to be conceded.
*Video is preferred*
Why? Well we don't want somebody sending us fake audio. But YOU wouldn't do that..right?

You can email us at fourthdband@gmail.com with a link, or a file, if you send us audio.

Nobody is limited to a genre, BUT, it's a good idea to listen to the music we have up on iTunes and our purevolume page to get a feel for the kind of music we play.
We find that we put a lot of different genres and tastes into one song, so for our sake, we don't like to explain our "genre" in words, because it wouldn't sound so great. (Lol)
It's best if you just listen.

Tryouts start today, Sept. 2nd, and will go until Sept. 30th, with our pick being announced on Oct. 1st.
If we don't get enough tryouts, or not enough material, we will extend it, in which case we will announce that here.

Any questions, or if your at all interested, PLEASE email us. Once again, it's fourthdband@gmail.com

Good luck,
Fourth Dimension

End of Summer update

Hey everybody, so it's the end of summer and school is gonna be starting up again here real soon for us. I got bored of the old boring design so I decided to spice it up a bit with this layout, if it's ugly as hell let me know, but it's 2:30 in the morning so I wouldn't know...lol. On to more important news:
Over the course of the summer we've been busy on and off, and schedules between band members didn't really link up, BUT, we have two songs on the album in the bag and a third soon to come. We're trying to keep things under wraps for a little bit longer, so no details at the moment... After we finish the third it will be a matter of if we come up with new material for a 4th or 5th song. We'll see how things play out.
Also, no official word as of yet, but we might, (that means might), MIGHT, have a guitar slot open. WHEN or IF I get any official word, THEN I'll make an announcement here.
Anyways I'll start up with more frequent blog posts, had a huge hiatus between the last one and this, and me no likey.
For now, some sleep would be nice.

"Enter" (Possible name change) due late september. we hope.

Well just decided to blog it up, this go around will be on our upcoming album "Enter," (or something else if we choose to change the name) which we plan on being good to go late september. Here's the potential track list (will probably change):

Enter:
1.) Enter
2.) Experience
3.) Rewind
4.) Undecided Name/Song
5.) Possibly Blind
6.) Exit

Out of all those songs track one, Enter, is done and good to go/finalize, as well as track six, Exit. MAYBE if your lucky and we're feeling nice, we'll put a snippet of both up on purevolume, but as of now, it's nobody's music for the hearing... yet.

Until more interesting stuff happens, payce.

Fourth Dimension... Vocals?

Well, the auditions were a success. We actually had a few people people give it a shot, and a big thanks go out to all those who tried out. The auditions came to a close at the end of last month and now it's official. The vocalist in Fourth Dimension will be Caitlin Schall, a junior at YHS. Congrats! We'll be having our first practice all together this friday, hopefully. Can't wait to get some new material out.

On another note, a bit of new material IS out. Check out "Enter...[full/vocal/demo]." Thats right, we finally have some legit vocals in the works! Caitlin's part isn't ready yet, but we'll work that out this week. The vocal audition/tryout guide is Caitlin's part sung by me just to see how it would fit in the song. Leave us a comment in our shout box on your thoughts...

Once again, congrats Caitlin! We're looking forward laying down some tracks with you.

Until the next update, payce.

VOCAL TRYOUT: "Enter" Prepared Lyrics

VOCAL TRYOUT

Enter...[full/demo]

Composed by Ryan Scott and Alex Valera

Vocalist: (From where the drums begin to where the snare drum kicks in.)

Brand new day,

But this isn’t right.

I don’t feel like myself,

I’ve got nothing in sight.

Lost within my thoughts,

I cant seem to keep track.

I’m falling behind...

Alex: (From where the snare drum kicks in to the 16th note HH part.)

These past nights...

Get up out the bed - thoughts up in my head,

Walkin' along - tired, I can rest when I'm dead.

Problems smother me, face eternally red,

looking for some cred - but unfortunately instead...

I'm not - feelin' legit,

I can't handle it,

The finish line - is ripped and last place is permanent,

My mind - is candle lit, no time for sentiment,

Seems like... It's solid in the ground like sediment...

Vocalist: (From the 16th note HH part to where the drums end.)

I’ve been living my life

with a veil over my eyes...

(Eyes)

I can’t seem to find my way out,

It’s been wrapped to tight...

New Demo, "Experience"...OH SNAP!

Alright, FINALLY. An IMPORTANT announcement, lol. We finally have a new demo out, and when I say new, I mean completely new. Unrelated to any of our other songs, not a remake of an older song, (however that will have to happen to final countdown at some point...), or any of that crap. To celebrate, you should go listen, right now. The new demo is called "Experience," you'll find it at the bottom of our playlist.
http://www.purevolume.com/4thd

On another note, I can feel those tshirts getting ready for print. I might hit you up with ONE more design, just in case you think it's better. I'll put a poll up or something. Remember, there is a shoutbox just to the right, and you don't have to register to say things! Nice!
Thanks for your support

A new pic?!

Well, since I spent a very valuable two hours on this picture from concept to final product, I figured it was well worth it to post it here. Gaze upon all its glory...

Where are the vocals?

Well some people like it the way it is, some people would appreciate some vocals. After talking this over with Alex, we both agreed that we don't qualify for the position, so we are reaching out to anyone with a voice who is interested, guy or girl, whatever. If you are interested, drop me an email at ryanscott1@mac.com with a recording of yourself. I'll hit you back on our opinion ASAP. On another note, yes, the shirts WILL happen, band money is tight right now. Also, we just released a remake of an old song, "Meet the Reaper," which was uploaded tonight and is called "Digital Dream." This version of the song isn't final, just a glimpse of the full thing. Feel free to post on our PV wall if you have an account, or even better, in the shoutbox to the right.

You need bass!

For all the people who support us but are begging for some more bass, we have the answer. Just a few days ago we invited a skilled bassist to join the band, Steven Haring. We've yet to have a practice all at once, but one thing's for sure, we'll need to clear some space in the studio, lol. With all the really nice equipment packed into there, we should be hearing a real difference in bass in the near future. Now, for the T-Shirts. This is the final product... in progress. If there is anything that you think should be improved in your opinion, feel free, there's a shoutbox.

Fourth Dimension T-Shirts

We are planning on putting some orders in for custom Fourth Dimension t-shirts. The t-shirts will be black or white, depending on what we choose. I'm still working on a design. The picture I put up is just a simple design, I can definitely do better though. I'll keep making up other designs until we find the one we like. Hopefully some people are interested.
